RIA Well Represented at Random Lions’ Speak-Out

speak off edit

On Wednesday, February 26th, Students from Random Island Academy attended the Random Lions’ Speak-Out.  All of our students had fantastic speeches and made sure that the judges had a difficult decision in choosing a winner.  While unplanned, it was fitting that on national Anti-bullying day, our students all had speeches that spoke out in support of human rights issues and promoted topics that asked for people to be treated equally and with respect.  We would also like to thank the Random Lions Club for their dedication to public speaking and for supporting these events every year.  Your support for our school is greatly appreciated!  Congratulations to all our participants who represented us well in this event.  You were all winners last night!

Way to go Grade 4’s!

Congratulations to Mrs. Porter’s Grade 4 Class who have just won two iPads with cases as part of the K-I-C Start takeCHARGE school contest.

This contest was designed to motivate and challenge students to learn more about using energy wisely.  Kids and teachers did a great job in accomplishing this through power point presentations, raps, poster, song, and video.  Our grade 4 class created the following submission:
