Senior Boys Softball Regional Qualfier

20160922_195600

It was a great Regional Softball qualifier for the Boys yesterday in Clarenville.  The boys went 1-1 in round robin play defeating St. Marks School and losing a close game to Tricentia Academy.  The crusaders earned a spot in the finals under the lights but unfortunately it was not meant to be for them as Tricentia played a great game and RIA came up short.  We would like to acknowledge all of the support as It was great to see so many of our school community members there to cheer on our boys.  We would like to congratulate Curtis Vardy on winning the sportsmanship medal and all the boys on your silver medals.  We would especially like to thank Kristina Hansford for all your efforts with the boys as this experience would not have been possible without your dedication!  Congratulations to the Timberwolves…we wish you best of luck at Provincials!

Back To Academics

ac

School is now well underway and we are back into the swing of things.  make sure all students have returned their media consent form, their Powerschool registration forms, and their textbook agreement forms.  Also, students must bring in their picture forms if they are getting them done on the 16th.

As classes/courses progress students will begin both in class and out of class work.  Keep an eye on Powerschool for updates in the coming weeks and also let your teachers know if you want to follow classes on Google Classroom to see assigned work before completion.  All students have free google accounts that provides an email, free storage on drive, and access to many programs such as docs and slides; teachers also use google classroom to assign work and send out notes to classes (classroom, drive, docs, slides, etc., are all connected to the students email).  It is also another way to communicate with student’s parents/guardians.

If anyone is interested in helping out with the breakfast program or with hot lunches please contact Sandy at the school.  We need people to make sure these programs can operate.  Thanks in Advance!!!

If anyone is planning on volunteering at school in terms of coaching, driving students, chaperoning, or other activities, please remember to get a code of conduct completed and returned to the school.  We can provide a letter that confirms you a a volunteer at RIA.  These letters take time so it is better to get them done early!
