RIA Student Council Hosts Jamarama Day for the Janeway!

Random Island Academy’s student council members have been busy once again. This time they took on Jamarama Day in support of the Children’s Wish Foundation. Students could make a $2.00 donation and wear their PJ’s to school. As part of the organization, students Katelyn Butt, Amber Hart, and Damian Marsh visited classes to let students know about the event. Congrats to all who took part and to those who donated!!

Great Weekend of Co-Curricular for RIA

We had a great showing from our Junior Boys & Junior Girls Volleyball Teams this past weekend in Clarenville.  Both teams played great and represented the school well.  Way to Go!!!  Thank you Mr. Abbott, Ms. Hansford, and Ms. Parrott for your efforts!

Our four Student Council Representatives had a great time in Gander this past weekend. They represented us extremely well and their spirit was noticed by many (We even had a tweet from the Education Minister).  They have a lot of great new ideas and are ready to bring them to RIA.  Thank you Ms. Smith for your efforts as well, and for all your work with the student council!

On October 17th,  18th, and 19th members of our student council will be representing RIA at the Provincial Student Leadership Conference which will be held at St. Paul’s Intermediate in Gander.

This past Monday and Tuesday these students had a cupcake sale to raise money for their trip.  They raised $128.35 and would like to thank everyone for the support they received!
